All,
My intention behind sending you the ACAD files is this – look at the drawings for scale, dimension of lines, proportion, layout, structure, etc. AND pay attention to DETAIL. I hope you can all use them to “uncover” the similarities in your drawings. Please share them with each other and find other “inspiration” towards drawing your plans.
Those who have started getting into planning and organization – good start. The work is staring to take shape, but it’s still missing attention to detail. You need to ask yourselves: What is this made of and how should I draw it? The outline drawings are fine in terms of getting the “idea” for the organization, but it doesn’t work for the concept. Material, weight, thickness, pattern, open/closed, depth, color and precision make a beautiful drawing. You all have some work to do to get there.
I’m not expecting perfection (yet), but I do expect your drawings on Tuesday to “read” per the idea its structure and its materiality (weight and degrees opacity).
Required documentation: This time I’ll be keeping score and will issue progress grades so take this presentation very seriously!
Large Scale drawings and model (format is not so important – again, content is!). The last pin-up with Amoia Studio was kind of pathetic. The depth of ideas and comprehension of your projects is impressive –conveyance of the ideas – not so good. We can only see architecture in drawings and models –words are merely illusions and sometimes delusions.
1. Site plan at an appropriate scale showing your plan with entry points identified.
2. Floor plans – all plans with main spaces identified.
3. Two Sections
4. Two Elevations.
5. Complete model (conceptual and otherwise)
6. Materiality Diagram (can be a neat hand drawing) demonstrating the relationship to the site context.
7. Documentation on 10 - 8.5 x 11 sheets using the format you have started. The continuing sketches and models since the last review should make up these documents. They should not be repeats of the large scale drawings.
8. Program description
9. Photos of model with shadows in proper orientation
10. Post all information to the blog with notes for eash other after the review (before Fridays class)
Pin-up at 2pm – anyone late will be recorded absent. (PS. I will count absences from this day forward – 2 more (not present or no work) and no pass the class – sorry!)

Just wanted to make sure this didn't get lost in the Friday posting event (some of you still haven't participated)
