    You should set up two sets for program analysis:

    Old = New
    Past / Present

    Monastery = ?

    Begin a dialogue between the old system and the new system. Analyze the differences.

    Do you mean the actual spaces list...
    ex: church, refectory, library, etc..?

    or should I concentrate on how those spaces have developed over time..how the spaces have changed, such as, the use of computers and updated technology? not really sure...

    Yes - more about the spaces over time and how they are used by the monks. What happens during the course of a day. Where do they eat? What times?? etc...

    Try to get some more info particularly on the Diurnal and Breviary. Present your findings.
