Drawing List

Everyone must present a drawing list today. I'm only interested in what the presentation is starting to look like. Stacy said she wanted to present today. Let's start with her. Pin up.

  1. Our meeting tomorrow will be brief. Matt, Steven and Brian pin-up at 2pm – we have one hour before I leave for Palmore review. If anyone really needs to see me, I’ll be around afterward.

What about that drawing list I asked for last class? You don't want me to make one for you?

    Some important drawings:

Stacy - site plan with station market
    Jen - elevations along streets.
Nik - drawings showing relation of old and new
Derek - frontal axon at west side (Manhattan side)
Steven - drawings that clearly identify the materiality and its relation to the site.
Dennis – overall site plan showing buildings across the street and access.
Brian – rendered views that make the building “disappear” into the landscape.
    Matt – same as Brian.

    Some important diagrams:

    Stacy –
Description of thesis program in relation to the building planning. Show who uses each space related to your thesis statement. Demonstrate how the planning enhances this.

    Jen –
Match the thesis diagrams to the building planning diagram. Show how the idea of each unit expands its reach to the neighborhood.

    Nik –
Diagram the flow of both “public” and “private” viewing and how it facilitates your thesis idea of “exposing” the issues of public/politic interaction

    Derek –
Frontal axon at west side (Manhattan side)! And some other drawings showing your ideas of “blurring” the boundary between: inside/outside, landscape/built, ruin/new, public/private, rehabilitation-reclamation-restoration…

    Steven –
Similar to Derek – drawings showing the use of the spaces in relation to the program. Use them to describe your intentions of your planning decisions.

    Dennis –
Interaction diagrams that show the interplay of the “public” use inside the “private” school. It’s important to clarify this intention as your thesis.

    Brian –
Clear “cartoon” diagrams of each scientist’s relationship to the spaces they occupy. It may be obvious to us, but no to someone quickly looking at your drawings.

    Matt –
Develop a drawing that shows how the parts of the program can be used on another reclaimed landfill site. Diagram the methane production as the power plant for any of these reclaimed landfill farms.
